I'm going to use my usual preamble space to explain this poem. For some reason, I was suddenly struck with the memory of my High School health where we were learning about acid. They told us about some accounts of people stuck in permanent trips. For whatever reason, this also triggered a memory from when I watched Dead Poets Society. Then I wrote this poem approximately three years ago. I think it's a pretty silly poem.

The Red Death
I'm writing it, people are reading it, so here is some more of the Song of the Storm King. The chronology of the Song of the Storm King is ambiguous and confusing on purpose but this part takes place before Lightning.
Character Consistency
As a writer, one of the most difficult things to maintain is consistent character depiction. I know for a fact that other writers, both professional and otherwise, struggle with the same thing to some degree.
Lightning
Garrett leaned against the counter of some shady shop, drumming his fingers against the surface. It was a cramped shop, stuffed to the gills with assorted curios and definitely not fake merchandise. It was as if someone had let that one miscellaneous drawer in their kitchen take over their house, with all the organization that comes with it. Garrett could hardly breath without bumping into something.
Scheduling and the Subject of Board Games
The posting schedule is going to be weird for the foreseeable future. Some current life errands and some longer projects have eaten up my time. As a guy who writes these posts same-day, that is not a good thing. I'm making an effort though.
Evolution of Ideas
Ideas are bullet proof. They are also an intangible, immaterial vapor of ever-changing stuff and are unreliable unless committed to paper (digital or otherwise.)
Blog Update
No blog post today, I spent time reformatting the website instead. If you like, here are my personal favorite articles I've posted.
New Hampshire Gothic: The Deer God
A little something that's been crawling around my brain for a few months now. Feels good to finally have it dislodged. No relation to the game The Deer God.
The Song of the Storm King: Night Watch
A short story I started a few hours before going to work and finished later. More SotSK stuff because why not? The first mention of the Storm King is here and the second mention of the Storm King is here. A poem featuring Garrett the Fox can be found here. Characters are as follows: Lyrica Lyra/Lyrica … Continue reading The Song of the Storm King: Night Watch
Vignette: Fanny Pack of Power
This is a little vignette I wrote a while back for a larger work I had since shelved. Part of my writing process includes writing a series of vignettes and later tiling them together as part of world building and character development. It features two characters I thought up: Roark Cainhurst, Proctor First Class (think … Continue reading Vignette: Fanny Pack of Power
